I'm not much of an alcohol drinker, let alone a wine person, but I definitely appreciate it more after going on a 3 day wine tasting weekend.  After a nice wine tasting adventure, I've really started to open up to the idea of drinking wine as a pairing with meals, like you would with a side dish. I hated wine at first, but after learning the history and the differences between wines, I find myself more open to things, not just wine.  It opened up my mind and made me realize that perspective is always open for change.  If you love wine, or if you're unsure about it, wine tasting is a great way to learn and experience flavor and new interests.  Grand Junction has ~17 vineyards (my number count may be off), and they were so eager to teach about the different wines and grapes and their processes.  A lot of them provide tours of their vineyards and wineries.

It really was an eye-opening trip. I had no idea so much went in to making wine, or the rich history behind it. Definately a worthwhile experience.

I am also a big fan of the wine making class/tasting tour.  First of all, is there a better way to spend an afternoon than navigating a few glasses of wine?  That is always a winner in my book!  However, rather than being curled up in a ball with my wine at home alone, the wine class is a great way to get out and be a little social.

The best wine classes should be enjoyed with friends and it is easy to get hooked on the experience.  After a while, and enough glasses, you'll swear that you're actually tasting the "moss and butter" that the winemaker twisted into the wine (which means you are either really learning about wine or that you shouldn't have consumed that old croissant you "ground-scored" on the way in)!

Either way, you'll end up having a quality afternoon with friends and might even learn something along the way.  Imagine that, learning while drinking, sounds like college!

My friend just told me about a wine tasting party that she went to.  The demo lady brings different wines for everyone to taste.  Since she doesnt have a liquor liscense, she cant sell right at the party, but the guests can order online from her site.

I wonder how many people actually go online and order from her, rather than just having a fun night out wine tasting?

Has anyone ever experienced this home based business?
